The Lincoln Chapter will hold a Lenten Organ Workshop on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM. The workshop will be held at First Christian Church, 16th & K Streets, hosted by Sub-Dean and Director of Music, Mark Miller.
This is a fine opportunity for chapter members to share favorite organ works for the Lenten season. This is not intended to be a recital, but rather a sharing of favorite works (especially obscure works) to help expand the knowledge of other organists who might be seeking other than “staple” organ works for the Lenten season. The pieces shouuld be appropriate for Ash Wednesday through Good Friday.
The organ at First Christian is a Phoenix 3-manual digital organ. Selections should be 4-5 pages or less. Also, feel free to bring copies of additional Lenten scores to share and peruse with other members at the fellowship coffee hour following the workshop.
If you plan to attend and play, please email your name, title of work(s), and composer(s) to board member Dan Ahlin at dahlin@neb.rr.com by January 20, 2019.
We hope to see you at this informal and informative workshop.
